GARBH SANSKARS
One thing if I wish I wanted to gain more knowledge during my pregnancy days, that was the "Garbh Sanskars". I regret not being aware of it, but I put in my best efforts to stay positive. I performed chanting and listened to relaxing music to send positive vibrations to the fetus in the womb. But nowadays, people are becoming more aware of it. Many sessions are going on regarding this. This is not something new in the trend, but it's been for a long time.
The term Sankars defines “values, karmas, belief, thoughts, and the deeds”. It varies from person to person depending on their culture, experience, and behavior. A person sanskar shows outside is there in the subconscious mind.
Like, the same way the word “garbh” refers to “fetus in the womb”, and sanskar means “education of the mind”.
It plays a crucial role in building up the sanskar in an unborn child. It is only possible when a mother follows its practices in various forms. There is scientific evidence that a healthy child is born inside with the support of garbh sanskar. The mother’s emotional state of mind influences it while she carries the baby.
If a mother is happy and thinking positively, then it’ll have a positive impact on the fetus, and vice versa. When a mother feels happy inside, it releases oxytocin hormones and the baby also understands the feelings of a mother. By the time, the kid is 3 months inside the womb; the baby gets recognized for the taste, sound, and smell.
Pregnancy is the most beautiful phase in a woman’s life. To make the pregnancy more positive and happy, here are a few tips to follow garbh sanskars:
Benefits of garbh sanskars
- Develop the bond of mother-child
- Promote good physical well-being
- Develop the baby’s brain - The child 80% the brain is developed in the mother’s womb only during the pregnancy (the scientific evidence)
- Keeps the baby calm and stays positive.
How a mother can practice garbh sanskar:
Yoga and music therapy” - to a fetus, a mother’s voice is clearer than any other voice. Through Garbh Samvad (specific guided meditation to be performed during the pregnancy), you can talk to the baby in the womb.
Om chanting- the child feels the calming energy and has a positive vibration when a mother chants “OM”
Positive self-talk: you need to understand that your child is listening to you every single second. They can't express, but they can feel.
Journaling – you can sit with your husband and write what all wonderful qualities you want in your baby. Take out its printout and post it on the wall where it will be the most visible. Be specific while mentioning. For eg, intelligent, dancer, spiritual, and positive attitude, etc.
The Garbh Sanskar is for all those women who are going to be a mother. She can perform this anytime and anywhere. But to get the best results, they should practice it daily at a specific time.

ReplyDeleteyes garbh sanskar offers great benefits for pregnant women and baby in the womb. in fact, I had written the post on same topic, few days ago.
ReplyDeleteA great informative post. A friend of mine shared her story with me. Before pregnancy she was very clear what kind of values she wanted to imbibe in her kid and she made conscious efforts during the pregnancy period to stay in that state of mind . Her child is 8 years now and surprisingly he holds all those values to some extent.
ReplyDeleteGreat work. Was aware of this since long good you spoke about it

I am always reminded of the tale from Mahabharata when this topic arises. Of abhimanyu hearing the art of entering the chakravyuh while he was still in his mother's womb.
ReplyDeleteI agree I have done all that, it gives peace of mind when you are going through so much of physical, emotional and mental changes.
ReplyDeleteYes I have heard so many good things about Garbh Sanskar, but never went to dig so deep. I must say your post has given me clear picture of this sanskar. Though I believe, we have traditional untraditional both ways to enjoy pregnancy, at the end what matters is to be happy and healthy and the most important to be positive.
